2 October 2017 – Amidst strong demands for safety technologies to accommodate raising OSH standards, the 11th edition of OS+H Asia, The Occupational Safety + Health Exhibition for Asia returns in August 2018. Organised by Messe Düsseldorf Asia, the essential trade exhibition will present an enriched focus on safety, security and healthcare at the modern workplace.
Having established a prominent presence in the field of workplace safety and health, OS+H Asia continues to grow with every edition. The three-day biennial exhibition will continue to serve Asia’s robust workplace safety and health industry with 7 renewed focus areas on Work at Height, Fire Protection, Environmental Control, Crisis and Emergency Management, Workplace Ergonomics, Smart Technologies and Health at Work; creating a total solutions platform for OSH practitioners and industry professionals.
Held in conjunction with the exhibition are The Singapore WSH Conference and the much anticipated Forum on Workplace Safety and Health. These parallel events will bring together a focused multidisciplinary international group of OSH professionals, thought-leaders and government officials who are committed to improving the workplace environment.
The upcoming edition of OS+H Asia is once again boosted by a strong regional and international representation as more than 200 exhibitors from 25 countries populate the show floor. Reiterating the healthy global appeal of the exhibition are five national pavilions and country groups featuring China, Malaysia, Russia, Singapore and Taiwan.
Advancement in technology and emerging labour market trends are constantly re-shaping the landscape of the workplace. In recent years, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) has made rapid progress in raising OSH standards, performance and capabilities. Singapore for instance, has taken strides in improving workplace safety and health over the past decade. The workplace fatality rate in Singapore was 1.9 per 100,000 workers in 2016 , and is well on course to reaching the target of less than 1.8. In search for new frontiers, the Singapore government has launched a fund of up to $2 million to support institutes and companies in developing cutting-edge solutions to reduce workplace fatalities from vehicular accidents.
As the region experiences an economic boom with robust industrial developments across building and construction, medical and healthcare, transportation and telecommunications infrastructure, hospitality and tourism, vast numbers of workers are exposed to risks at work. OS+H Asia is recognised as the long-standing and highly necessary occupational safety and health trade exhibition in Asia that serves as a one-stop sourcing and procurement marketplace providing new and improved technologies and solutions that aim to enhance safety standards and cultures at the workplace.
Driven by the sector’s leading global exhibition for Personal Safety, Security and Health at the Workplace, A+A organised by Messe Düsseldorf, OS+H Asia has grown from strength to strength since its inception in 1998 and consistently records healthy numbers of participation from both exhibitors and visitors. In its previous edition in 2016, OS+H Asia welcomed 199 exhibitors from 25 countries and 4,500 trade professionals from close to 40 countries.
